Match Results - Rim Fire Benchrest
It was a weird day at Capitol City R&P. Conditions were “spooky” calm, with lots of unexplainable misses, though some folks did especially well. The wind picked up and became harder for all positions.
Gary Hamilton was in top form, getting a very nice 250-16x in tough conditions. Congratulations Gary! He’s out of his post-shoulder-operation sling and scoring well again.
We had the highest number of shooters for quite some time, 13 in all, requiring two relays for the first time since adding benches. Also for the first time, we had NO PLINKER shooters. It’s getting tougher here…that’s for sure.
Yours truly had a tough time at bench #2 on the second relay, managing a 247-13x that didn’t even place in the top three! I’m very happy to have that level of competition here!!! I was sharing bench #2, so we had two flags at every location. It was disconcerting to have two flags within 6 feet of each other in nearly the same line, but pointing in opposite directions! That only happens at “bowl” ranges like Capitol City! Klayton Hayes will be doing some pruning to improve conditions, especially at the left side of the range. Thanks Klayton!!
It was great to have Paul Bendix visiting again. Thanks for helping by adding scores, Paul. It was also great to see John Murphy and Neal Whitcomb again.
Roland Drouin bought my Win 52C and used it for the first time, but needs to get used to the 2oz trigger. He had a few shots go off well before he was ready.
